good bad and ugly 2

This hasn’t simply been a better week than the week before, it has been a “fantastic week” here in the upper Midwest as we have been experiencing temperatures in the mid to high 40’s, which of course might not blow your skirt up if you live in Southern California or Florida, but here in the Dakotas, in January,’s a Godsend!

Welcome - Finished

Teresa,                                     (A Serious Note).

My sister Alma is currently serving three years in Arizona for possession of marijuana. Alma began smoking marijuana in high school to be popular along with all the other things that make girls popular in school.

I love my sister and I tried to tell her that what she was doing would mess up her life. My sister didn’t listen to me and she didn’t listen to our mother.

My mom and I have to travel three hundred miles to visit her, so we only see her about every three months. She’s been in prison for just over a year and I cry when I see the tattoos on her face, on her back and on her legs.

My sister is ruined and there is no one to blame because no one in America cares, not in school, not in church and not in the government.

Hello Teresa, thank you for visiting my site and thank you for your narrative.

I agree 1

You wanna change America, ..stop voting for our pretentious career politicians.

ostentatious politicians

According to Webster: “pre·ten·tious,” (In context) Making or marked by an extravagant outward show; ostentatious.

Incarceration in the United States of America is one of the main forms of punishment, and/or, rehabilitation, or both for the commission of felony and other offenses

The United States has “the largest” prison population in the world, and the second-highest per-capita incarceration rate, behind “Seychelles” (which has a total prison population of 786 out of a population of 90,024).

In 2012, the prison population in the United States was 707 adults incarcerated per 100,000 population. (Source Wikipedia).

the Republic of Seychelle

The Republic of Seychelles, is an “archipelago” in the Indian Ocean. The 115-island country, whose capital is Victoria, lies 1,500 kilometers east of mainland Southeast Africa.

The culture of Seychelle…

Video – double-click and enjoy.

Albeit the Republic of Seychelle is indeed a beautiful place, I’m sure that it’s no more fun to be in prison there, than it is in Arizona.

John,                                     (A Serious Note).

Irene is someone’s daughter and someone’s mother, how can you be so indifferent and cold?

In my Opinion - Finished

Hello John, thank you for visiting my site and thank you for your narrative.

Life is not a smorgasbord,’s a roll of the dice…

roll of the dice 4

As lamentable a circumstance as it is, ..we (don’t) get to pick our parents. Consequently the first two pages you can rip out your dictionary, are the page containing the word “fair” and the page containing the word “equal.”

Once you understand that there’s (no equality) in the world and life (isn’t fair), you’re up to speed on reality and that’s as good as it ever gets.

According to Webster: “re·al·i·ty,” n. (in context) The state of being actual or true.

We the People - Graphic 4

Although I readily admit that (ideology) is preferable to reality in comparison, because when you think about it, who doesn’t like a happy ending?

Obama food stamps - hands 2

According to Webster: “i·de·ol·o·gy,” n., The body of ideas reflecting the social needs and aspirations of an individual, a group, a class, or a culture.

Obamacare - pixie dust 2a

According to Webster: “i·de·al·ist,” n. (In context) One who is unrealistic and impractical.

I dropped out of school, not because I was lazy or stupid, but rather because I judged school to be stupid. I earned my first dollars raking leaves from around “Lupes’ Café” in Thousand Oaks California.

My father taught me that a man works for his living and that a man treats others as he would have others treat him. What could be (simpler or more rewarding) than to be honest and compassionate?

Although I feel bad for those that didn’t get the message, I don’t feel responsible for them.
Welcome - Finished

Bob,                                           (Open to Life).

Well spoken!, Now for my opinion. I don’t think I have seen such pompous arrogance in the White House since the days of LBJ.

In my Opinion - Finished

Hello Bob, as always I appreciate your input and your insight and your choice of vocabulary.

According to Webster: “pom·pous,” adj. Characterized by excessive self-esteem or exaggerated dignity; pretentious.

Welcome - Finished

Michael,                                      (Incorrigible).

I stumbled across your post “On Loan” while actually looking for a loan online. I enjoyed the presentation so much I spent another two and a half hours browsing your archives.

I am now locked into your profanity with a passion I’ve never known and at the risk of sounding bewitched, you’re (nit) for illumination is haunting.

“Simplicity in character, in manners, in style; in all things the supreme excellence is simplicity.”

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

In my own words; “I totally appreciate your style.”

In my Opinion - Finished

Hello Michael, thank you for “stumbling” across my site and thank you for the accolades.

I have a definite appreciation for folks who own dictionaries and use them. 🙂

According to Webster: “nit,” (in proper context) n. A unit of illuminative brightness equal to one candle per square meter, measured perpendicular to the rays of the source.

Pleased to have you aboard Michael, hope to hear from you again and often, Chuck.

Welcome - Finished

Jennifer,                  (Prison without Bars – Socialism).

As an investment consultant I have lived in Japan, England, France, Belgium and Indonesia.

Socialism everywhere is advertised as being an advantage for the poor, nevertheless in practice there is no advantage to being poor, not in Japan, not in England, not in Belgium and especially not in Indonesia.

I currently live in Manhattan and drive a Lexus because I’m a capitalist, money is power, without power you’re a victim.

In my Opinion - Finished

Hello Jennifer, thank you for visiting my site and thank you for your narrative.

According to Webster: “truth,” (in context) n., Fidelity to a standard.

Honesty is “unequivocally” the Best Policy!

Welcome - Finished

Tom,                       (Prison without Bars – Socialism).

The prison without bars has been created by trickle down economics and deregulation. The foundation for the destruction of our nation and sovereignty has been fed rocket fuel by the citizen’s united decisions that allowed foreign entities contribute unlimited funds to our electoral system.

Mornin’ Chuck.

In my Opinion - Finished

Hello Tom, good to hear from you again after a long dry spell and when you’re right you’re right…

According to Webster: “for·eign,” (in context) Not germane; irrelevant.

Which of course (in my humble opinion), can be said about 99.44 percent of our currently “serving” representatives in Washington, (on both sides of the aisle).

Once again, “for the Peanut gallery,” …

Why I pick on Barack Obama?

peanut gallery 3a

The President of United States is “contractually” bound and sworn to uphold the Constitution.

Leading this nation is a job, it is not an adventure, nor is it a license to exercise one’s imagination.

The Constitution dictates that the President shall enforce the laws of the United States, it does not provide for a President to pick and choose the laws he wishes to enforce and ignore those that fly in the face of his personal beliefs.

we the people document

The U.S. Constitution is an interesting document, everyone should read it.

Welcome - Finished

Ellis,                                       (An Eye for an Eye).

I began hunting with my father when I was eight years old, my father was a life member of the NRA until his passing in 1979.

I purchased my life membership at age twenty-one and like you I resent self-important liberals deciding who I am and what I am allowed to do.

Bryant Gumbel may hold water with the edgy ego set, but to me he’s just another narcissist enamored by his mirror and serves no purpose.

In my Opinion - Finished

Hello Ellis, thank you for visiting my site and thank you for your support and your narrative.

After writing the piece I posted on Friday, I decided to delve a little deeper into Mr. Gumbel’s history…

Bryant Gumbel - face 3

..and I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised to learn he didn’t drink the “African-American” Kool-Aid as he has his ethnicity listed with Wikipedia as; “Louisiana Creole.”

Albeit after that, his Kudo worthiness began a steady decline as I read his bio…

Boy Scouts Incident…

A CBS camera caught a disgusted Bryant Gumbel blurting out “What a fu**ing idiot” just after he had finished a hostile interview with Robert Knight of the Family Research Council (FRC).

The incident occurred at about 7:15 a.m. ET on Thursday, June 29, 2000 following Knight’s appearance to defend the Boy Scout policy of excluding gays from being leaders.

The Media Research Center reported that he uttered those words; Gumbel openly admitted to saying so when guest-hosting a June 2007 episode of Live with Regis and Kelly.

More Controversial remarks…

In February 2006, Gumbel made remarks regarding the Winter Olympics and the lack of African-American participation.

So try not to laugh when someone says these are the world’s greatest athletes despite a (paucity) of blacks that makes the Winter Games look like a GOP convention.

According to Webster: “pau·ci·ty,” n. Smallness of number.

On the August 15, 2006 episode of Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel, Gumbel made the following remarks about former NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue and Players’ Union president Gene Upshaw and directed these comments to new commissioner Roger Goodell: …

“Before he cleans out his office have Paul Tagliabue show you where he keeps Gene Upshaw’s leash. By making the docile head of the players union his personal pet, your predecessor has kept the peace without giving players the kind of guarantees other pros take for granted. Try to make sure no one competent ever replaces Upshaw on your watch.”

In response, Tagliabue said: …

“What Gumbel said about Gene Upshaw and our owners is about as irresponsible as anything I’ve heard in a long time.”

Gumbel’s response was: …

“It’s a lot like covering any story […] You see what is in front of you and you report on it.”

On the October 18, 2011 episode, Gumbel evoked slavery in his criticism of NBA Commissioner David Stern over the league’s lockout.

“His efforts are typical of a commissioner who has always seemed eager to be viewed as some kind of modern-day plantation overseer, treating NBA men as if they were his boys. … His moves are intended to do little more than show how he’s the one keeping the hired hands in their place.”

And of course his most recent…

In a Rolling Stone article dated January 20, 2015, Gumbel said; …

“There are a few things I hate more than the NRA. I mean truly. I think they’re pigs. I think they don’t care about human life. I think they are a curse upon the American landscape.”

As for Bryant Gumbel’s military service, as expected of an ego elitist, ..he has none.

Welcome - Finished

Richard,                                 (An Eye for an Eye).

I was introduced to your website on Friday by a phone call from a friend and fellow NRA member.

Thank you for standing our ground and thank you for your service.

Hello Richard, thank you for visiting my site and think your friend for his phone call.

In my Opinion - Finished

Gumbel can grumble till the cows come home and it won’t change a thing as long as common sense conservatives go to the polls in 2016 and cast their votes for folks that believe in jobs and commerce.

Liberalism and communism historically don’t work, ..simply because the law of “something for nothing” doesn’t work. It never has and never will.

Welcome - Finished

Greg,                                       (An Eye for an Eye).

As a thirty-five year member of the NRA I’d like to thank you for your write up on Gumbel. I’m passing it on to everyone I know and asking them to pass it on to everyone they know.

Keep the faith, and God bless you.

In my Opinion - Finished

Hello Greg, thank you for visiting my site and thank you for your participation in spreading the word.
