OAK PARK, Calif. — The superintendent of a Southern California high school apologized to a atheist high school student who said his teacher made him stand while his class recited the Pledge of Allegiance against his will.

The apology came after a ninth-grade student at Oak Park High School said that he was “intimidated” by his teacher into standing with the rest of his class while they recited the pledge, the Los Angeles Time reported.

The student, whose name was not made public, complained about the incident on at website run by the American Humanist Association.

The association reported the complaint to the school district and informed school officials they were violating the boy’s 1st Amendment rights.

School officials said it as a mistake to force the boy to stand during the pledge if he objected to the passage that describes the U.S. as “one nation under God.”

They apologized and said students have the right to remain seated during the pledge.

In this writer’s unequivocal opinion, if the above presentation wasn’t so categorically ridiculous, ..it would be sad.

Since you’ve taken the time to read my blather today, it is obvious that you have little else to do, so let’s take a little walk together down Imagination Lane…

Truth: Whether or not some punk high school student in Oak Park California chooses not to believe in God, that does not change the fact that America is…

Question: As neither Bob Ponting or the Los Angeles times made reference to any objections to God being (forced upon him) other than his objection to God being (forced upon him) in the Pledge of Allegiance, I would be interested to know if this lad rejects America’s currency as adamantly, as God is a resident on every coin and every bill?

Furthermore, if this young man is so adamant about denying the existence of God, why is he reluctant to share his name?

As for the “American humanist Association”…

According to Webster: “hu·man·ist,” (hy›“m…-n¹st) n. 1. A believer in the principles of humanism

2. One who is concerned with the interests and welfare of human beings.

3. A classical scholar. b. A student of the liberal arts.

4. Humanist. A Renaissance scholar devoted to Humanism. –hu”man·is“tic adj. –hu”man·is“ti·cal·ly adv.

(My thoughts).

As a realist who draws from the well of common sense, (in my opinion), folks that cater to such nonsense as liberal arts are folks without a path or the ambition to look for one.

no allegiance no responsibility (2)

According to Webster: “hu·man·ism,” (hy›“m…-n¹z”…m) n. 1. A system of thought that centers on human beings and their values, capacities, and worth.

2. Concern with the interests, needs, and welfare of human beings: “the newest flower on the vine of corporate humanism” (Savvy).

3. The study of the humanities; learning in the liberal arts.

4. Humanism. A cultural and intellectual movement of the Renaissance that emphasized secular concerns as a result of the rediscovery and study of the literature, art, and civilization of ancient Greece and Rome.

(My thoughts).

Dipping into my well once again in an attempt to “rationalize” humanism, all I can come up with is…

Hollow Man 1

no allegiance no responsibility (2)

According to Webster: “al·le·giance,” (in context) n. Loyalty or the obligation of loyalty, as to a nation, sovereign, or cause.

Albeit, when all is said and done, there are still more of us, “Americans,” that do pledge our allegiance to the flag and to the Republic for which it stands, ..than the number of those that don’t.

Accordingly, please rejoice with me in this new year knowing that with each day that passes between “today” and Nov. 8, 2016, that although our current leader, and/or, (detractor) will undoubtedly cram a “sizable measure” of socialist legislation down “our” throats, “we” who (adhere to) our loyalty to “God and Country” will prevail.

Truth forges understanding, I’ll be back tomorrow
