A week ago this morning, and/or, (last Friday), I received a fun little “ditty” from my friend Norma, and/or “Normal” ..from out yonder in the Golden State, ..and/or, California.

According to Merriam-Webster: “dit·ty,” (in context), A literary composition.

Accordingly, to mark the event and pay proper “homage” this morning, I would like to share that “fun little ditty” (somewhat modified), with all of those that stumble across my site today.

The Un-Dead..

zombies - graphic 1

 (Zombies).

In popular culture…

As fictional undead creatures, “zombies” are regularly encountered in horror and fantasy themed novels and movies.

They are typically depicted as mindless, reanimated corpses with a hunger for human flesh, (and in particular), ..for human brains.

Although “zombies” share their name and a few superficial similarities with the (zombie from Haitian Vodun), their links to such folklore are unclear…

Many consider George A. Romero’s film “Night of the Living Dead” to be the progenitor of these creatures. Zombies have a complex literary heritage, with predecessors ranging from Richard Matheson and H. P. Lovecraft, …

movie poster 1933 - Frankenstei

..to (Mary Shelley’s) “Frankenstein,” all drawing on European mythology of the undead.

The popularity of zombies in movies has led to them having been taken out of their usual element of “horror” and thrown into other genres, …

The “zombie apocalypse” concept, in which the civilized world is brought low by a global zombie infestation, has become a staple of modern popular art.

By 2011 the influence of zombies in popular consciousness had reached far enough that the United States government’s “Center for Disease Control” used the idea as a theme to promote disaster preparedness.

Conversation reportedly overheard by an anonymous source as follows…

Obama; “Hey Bro, ..waz up, ..any thoughts on what can I do to recover my street cred?

In Africa…

According to the West African tenets of Vodou, a dead person can be revived by a bokor, or sorcerer. Zombies remain under the control of the bokor since they have no will of their own. “Zombi” is also another name of the Vodou snake lwa Damballah Wedo, of Niger–Congo origin; it is akin to the Kikongo word nzambi, which means “god”.

There also exists within the West African Vodun tradition the zombi astral, which is a part of the human soul that’s kept by a bokor and used to enhance the bokor’s power.

In Haiti…

In 1937, while researching folklore in Haiti, Zora Neale Hurston encountered the case of a woman who appeared in a village, and a family claimed she was Felicia Felix-Mentor, a relative who had died and been buried in 1907 at the age of 29.

However, the woman had been examined by a doctor, who found on X-ray that she did not have the leg fracture that Felix-Mentor was known to have had.

Hurston pursued rumors that the affected persons were given a powerful psychoactive drug, but she was unable to locate individuals willing to offer much information. She wrote: “What is more, if science ever gets to the bottom of Vodou in Haiti and Africa, it will be found that some important medical secrets, still unknown to medical science, give it its power, rather than gestures of ceremony.” (Source, Wikipeedia).

(Sidebar).

Which of course, (at least in my humble opinion), is what differentiates Haitian zombies from government zombies.

(Jesus Christ – mankind’s Lord and Savior).

This of course, is disputed by atheists around the world who would have you believe…

Atheism is a social and political movement in favour of atheism and secularism promoted by a collection of modern atheist writers who have advocated the view that “religion should not simply be tolerated but should be countered, criticized, and exposed by rational argument wherever its influence arises.”

There is doubt about how much influence the movement has had on religious demographics, albeit the increase in atheist groups, publications and public appearances are agreed with the non-religious being the largest growing demographic…

Closely followed by Islam and evangelicalism in the U.S. and UK.

New Atheism lends itself to and often overlaps with secular humanism and antitheism, particularly in its criticism of the indoctrination of children and the perpetuation of ideologies. (Source, Wikipedia).

In closing today, I’d like to share a secret with “you” and with all of America that has absolutely nothing to do with zombies or the undead.

Last Saturday was my first experience reading your blog, the article was entitled Memory Lane and Political Correctness, and I enjoyed it so much that I scrolled down to read more.

I started with Natural Order, then I read Meaningful and Superfluous, Presumably, New Deal versus Bad Deal, and so on until I reach your readers forum entitled Indian giver, and of course since Sundays follows Saturdays, I couldn’t wait to logon the following morning.

Which, if I may say so, was totally out of the ballpark from what I was expecting. So I read further back in your archives to get a better sense of what you’re about and the more I read the more I understood just how little I know about the political process in this country and how little I know about people in general.

I didn’t vote for Barack Obama either time because I am a retired Navy pilot, so I voted for McCain and I also voted for McCain because I liked Sarah Palin.

I thought she was smarter than Barack Obama then and I haven’t changed my mind sense.

I’m 76 years old and I still live in the same house I was born in Rosemead. I was five years old when the second world war began, so I didn’t understand hate beyond the childish animosity I felt towards my younger brother when he broke something that belonged to me.

By the wars end I’d lost my father and an uncle in the Pacific and another uncle in Europe.

My brother enlisted in the Army in 1962, and volunteered to go to Vietnam before anyone in America knew that there was a war in Vietnam. He stayed for three years until his luck ran out.

I never married because I didn’t want to have a child that might die in a senseless war.

After which, there’s the security of your family to think about. If you have children, is the world safe for them?

Norman Rockwell mom and dad 1a

If you don’t have children, is the world safe for your parents?

Everyone has someone to be concerned about, even if “you” or “they” don’t accept the responsibility.

So what do folks who don’t accept obligation or responsibility for themselves or for others do to feel safe?

Obama with Secret Service

If you’re the President of United States, the people you work for pay men with guns to protect you.

Question: Who “protects” the people that pay to protect the President?

The people who pay to protect the Pres., also pay to protect themselves by paying taxes…

..the DEA, ..the DOD, ..the CID, ..the CIA, ..the NSA, ..the GAO and so many others that the list looks more like a bowl of alphabet soup than a roster of government agencies.

…and then of course we have alcohol tobacco and firearms who originated as an agency to keep track of the paperwork before turning the page to start carrying guns instead of just keeping track of them.

Like we didn’t have enough policing agencies in this country carrying guns?

..and to what end?

Branch Davidian compound 1

(Branch Davidian compound – Waco Texas – 1993).

The Waco siege was a siege of a compound belonging to the religious group Branch Davidians by American federal and Texas state law enforcement and military between February 28 and April 19, 1993.

The Branch Davidians, a Christian sect led by David Koresh, lived at Mount Carmel Center ranch in the community of Elk, Texas, nine miles east-northeast of Waco.

The group was suspected of weapons violations and a search and arrest warrant was obtained by the U.S. federal agency Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF).

The incident began when the ATF attempted to raid the ranch. An intense gun battle erupted, resulting in the deaths of four agents and six Branch Davidians. Upon the ATF’s failure to raid the compound, a siege was initiated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the standoff lasting 51 days. Eventually, the FBI launched an assault and initiated a tear gas attack in an attempt to force the Branch Davidians out. During the attack, a fire engulfed Mount Carmel Center and 76 men, women, and children, including David Koresh, died. (Source, Wikipedia).

Not a proud day in America to be sure, albeit (our never take responsibility for their actions government’s solution), Janet Reno, “our” U.S. Attorney General (at the time), made things right by going on television and telling the country that it was her fault.

Of course when you fall on your sword while in the employ of the U.S. government, you’re (not actually) harmed…

Janet Reno - Saturday Night Liv

..you get a spot on “Saturday Night Live,” where the cast pardoned you with jocularity and everything is (once again) right with the world.

Prominently within the text of our Constitution (it is written) that our Second Amendment was established to guarantee ethical behavior by the individuals who (served) and (would serve) this nation and that text reads; …

Question: Who picks up the tab for “our,” and/or, “We the People’s” protection and our security?

As with anything and everything in America, “we the people,” (the taxpayers), pick up the tab.

We not only pay “our” representatives an average of three times what they would make if they worked in an industry that actually produced something, ..we pay for their health costs, ..we pay for their transportation, ..we also pay for their three-hour lunches and their cocktails after four…

Our government, i.e., which is a “Democratic Republic” was not designed to create and sell a product, “our” governments sole purpose is to manage and serve the people.

Question: How many of you good folks reading my “blather” today believe that “we,” (the collective we), whether you’re a Democrat, an Independent or a Republican, think that you’re getting “your” money’s worth?

What price ( $ ) per pound would “you” place on the (broken promises, lies and deceit), that “our” elitist representatives in Washington D.C. have been packaging for our consumption over the last 50 years?

A personal reflection…

“Only children and disrespectful miscreants put their feet on someone else’s furniture”…

We, (the collective we), be ye a “registered” Democrat, an Independent or a registered Republican?

If you’re a man or a woman who considers yourself an American, a “true American,” one who actually believes in the Constitution as it was written by our founding fathers…

founding fathers - graphic 1

..the men who actually wrote and ratified the document that guarantees every American citizen rights and privileges well beyond any rights and privileges available to (any citizen) of (any other nation) on this planet.

America as I have heralded on many occasions prior, is not only the last bastion of freedom on the planet earth, it is the only bastion of freedom on this planet and will remain so, if (you and your neighbors) can muster the (fortitude) to “walk away” from the (rhetoric) that you’re provided by the richest, most self-serving miscreants on this planet.

Abraham Lincoln, God bless him, signed an executive order now referred to as the “Emancipation Proclamation,” which unequivocally banished slavery in America.

Question: So why are (you and your neighbors), to include every last American, (black, brown, white, ..or in between), determined to relinquish your (rights and privileges), to the bankers and elitist politicians?

Americans have not sacrificed and fought to maintain our freedoms for 237 years, just to have them all flushed away by a neo-Commie Marxist socialist like Barack Obama.

King Barack 2

When it cost One Billion dollars “or more” to win the election for president in this country, “we the people,” need to step up and explain the terms and provisions in “our” Constitution, as (our) elected “representatives” seem to have four gotten that “they” are no better than anyone else under the law, and that there are “limitations” to their jobs.

Truth forges understanding, I’ll be back tomorrow
