Cutting to the Chase..

cut to the chase 1a

“Cut to the chase” is a saying that means to get to the point without wasting time.

Hal Roach senior 1 Hal Roach senior

The phrase originated from early silent films. It was a favorite of and thought to have been coined by Hal Roach Senior, (January 14, 1892 – November 2, 1992).

Films, particularly comedies, often climaxed in chase scenes to add to film time. Some inexperienced screenwriter or director, unsure how to get to the climax or the lack of script to meet time requirements, would just make an abrupt transition, known as a cut.

An earlier version of the phrase was Cut to Hecuba. This refers to the practice of shortening matinée performances of Hamlet by cutting the long speeches before the reference to Hecuba in Act II, Scene ii. (source Wikipedia).

Isms, ..and ologies..

What the hell is an ism, ..and/or, ..an ology?

According to Webster: ism, Informal. A distinctive doctrine, system, or theory: “Formalism, ..being an ‘ism,’ kills form by hugging it to death” (Peter Viereck). [From -ism.]

Peter Robert Edwin Viereck (August 5, 1916 – May 13, 2006), was an American poet and political thinker, as well as a professor of history at MountHolyokeCollege for five decades. (Source, Wikipedia).

According to Webster: ol·o·gy, A branch of learning: “amphibology, parisology, and other ologies” (Evan Esar).

Evan Esar (1899–1995) was an American humorist who wrote Esar’s Comic Dictionary 1943, “Humorous English” in 1961, and 20,000 Quips and Quotes in 1968.

He is known for quotes like “Statistics: The only science that enables different experts using the same figures to draw different conclusions.”

Evan Esar also wrote; “The Legend of Joe Miller,” which was privately printed for members of the (Roxburghe Club of San Francisco) by the Grabhorn Press in 1957. (Source, Wikipedia).

In the 21st-century, ..albeit (a sad commentary) on America, ..we in America are laden with “isms” ..and ..ologies…

Racism, ..sexism, ..socialism, ..capitalism, ..communism, ..terrorism, ..and, (at least in my considered opinion,) ..if Barack Obama is allowed a (free rein) to achieve his agenda, ..we will have..

Obama·ol·o·gy,  A body of ideas reflecting the “social needs and aspirations” of an (idealistic) individual, ..unwaveringly bent on establishing a culture of entitlement.

According to Webster: en·ti“tle·ment, To furnish with a right or claim to something.

Racist, and/or, Racism?

According to Webster: ra·cism, 1. The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others. 2. Discrimination or prejudice based on race.

According to Webster: be·lief, Something accepted as true.

In my personal experience I have found that not all white people believe that all black people are inferior in character or ability. Nor has it been my experience that all black people believe that all white people are racists.

With that said, I have a few questions…

..but first, ..it is important that “you understand” ..that I have (little or no tolerance) for (stupid and/or ignorant) people.

First Question: “If the White, ..and/or ..Caucasian members of Congress, ..”all or in part,” ..organized a “Congressional White Caucus,” ..would the American people, “all or in part,” accept their resolution without protest?

 North Carolina Congressman G.K. Butterfield

The Associated Press reports that Mr. Butterfield, “a black man” ..who by all appearances is white, ..feels differently about the notion that Obama should not be labeled black.

Butterfield comments on Obama’s appearance: His physical appearance is black. I don’t know how he could have chosen to be any other race. Let’s just say he decided to be white — people would have laughed at him.

It is quite astonishing that Butterfield, of all people, would try to project a black identity onto Obama using this type of logic because it can easily be reversed. For example:

Since Butterfield’s physical appearance is white… Let’s say that he decided to be black – people would have laughed at him.

Mr. Butterfield insists that he “is certainly not white.” While one should exude admiration for this U.S. Representative that led civil rights marches as a young man, I must point out that his notions of race and the people that embody them are a bit outdated.

Mr. Butterfield went on to tell the AP, “You are a product of your experience. I’m a U.S. congressman, and I feel some degree of discomfort when I’m in an all-white group. We don’t have the same view of the world, our experiences have been different.”

One could arbitrarily define the context of what he meant by “experiences” all day, so I’ll just take issue with his last two statements.

This perpetuation of extreme differences that Mr. Butterfield feels when amongst an “all-white group” is strictly mental.

While there are differences among different groups of people (multiracials, whites, blacks, asians etc.) it is quite hyperbolic and superfluous for him to feel discomfort.

With that said, some people have denounced Congressman Butterfield’s notion that it is absurd for Obama to not be considered black. (Source Associated Press.com).

If we listen to Congressman Butterfield and judge a person by his or her appearance, it would be ridiculous to list Barack Obama as anything other than black or brown. Which of course, ..(at least in my opinion,) ..does not automatically categorize Barack Obama as an African-American, ..unless of course, ..as (emphatically denied,) ..Barack Obama was indeed born in Kenya?

Charlize Theron, born 7 August 1975) in South African is an actress and fashion model.

Charlize Theron became a naturalized American citizen in 2007, ..making her, ..an “actual,” ..and/or, ..true “African American.”

Continuing…

Skin color does not make one an African, ..birth does!

However, ..at (least in his opinion,) Congressman George Kenneth Butterfield Jr., ..is a black man (by heritage,) ..if skin color was the measure of a man, ..and/or, ..a woman, ..Mr. Butterfield would be the first and only white member of the congressional black caucus.

Black, ..white, ..green, ..purple, ..orange? The way I was raised, ..a man is defined by his character.

According to Webster: char·ac·ter, The combination of qualities or features that distinguishes one person, group, or thing from another.

My father taught me to be self-reliant and responsible for my actions.

I don’t hate Barack Obama, ..I hate his ideology and his agenda for America, ..because, ..at least (in my humble opinion,) ..Barack Obama’s agenda for America, ..is not American.

Question of the day..

Tell Viadimir that I’ll have more flexibility after the election…

Question: What is one of the most valuable things a human being can possess?

Second Question: What is one of the most dangerous things that a human being can possess?

Hint: The answer to both questions is the same.

According to Webster: se·cret, (in context) and/or pertaining directly to Barack Obama and his administration: “A method or formula on which success is based.”

According to Webster: suc·cess, 1. The achievement of something desired, planned, or attempted: 2. The gaining of fame or prosperity.

Which of course, ..by Webster’s definition, ..Barack Obama is a success, (at least with half of the nation’s population).

By my half, ..and/or, ..(the conservative “common sense” half of the nation) Barack Obama remains, ..(by my assessment) ..the lowest form of life on the planet.

Barack Obama is the president of the United States for many reasons, ..albeit none, ..(at least in my humble opinion) ..that legitimately qualify him to hold the office.

Once again referencing Barack Obama’s path in life, ..(his formative years) ..and/or, ..his adolescence…

According to Webster: ad·o·les·cence, (in context) The physical and psychological development between youth and maturity.

Barack Obama’s father is published as having been born in Kenya, South Africa. Barack Obama’s father is published as having been a goat herder. His father is published as having received a scholarship to the University of Hawaii in 1959. Barack Obama’s father is published as having married (his second wife) Stanley Ann Dunham (from Kansas) ..in 1961, (without divorcing, ..or dissolving) ..his first marriage. His father is published as having left Ann Dunham and his infant son, “Barack Obama Junior,” ..in 1962, ..to attend Harvard University in Cambridge Massachusetts. Barack Obama’s father is published to have only seen his son one other time during a visit to Hawaii in 1971. Barack Obama’s father is published as having been a heavy drinker. Barack Obama’s father is published to have died in a car accident in 1982.

Stanley Ann Dunham, ..and/or, ..Barack Obama’s mother is published to have been born in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Stanley Ann Dunham is published as having despised her (white, American Christian soldier father) for the humiliation she endured in being given a boys name. (rense.com). She is published as having attended Mercer Island high school in Seattle, Washington. It is published that (at the time) ..Ann Dunham attended Mercer Island high school, ..the faculty leaned heavily towards Marxist communism. It is published that Stanley Ann Dunham was an atheist. It is published that Stanley Ann Dunham married “Lolo Soetoro” in 1967. It is published that Barack Obama spent a portion of his grade school years attending a government-run (Muslim) school in Indonesia.

Barack Obama, ..both, “directly and indirectly” ..(publicly) denied having any “personal” connection to the Muslim faith during his campaigned for the Oval Office in 2008.

Barack Obama campaigned on uniting the country and providing a level playing field and a better life for all of its citizens.

Barack Obama campaigned on openness and transparency.

Higher taxes and more government programs and regulation have never provided, ..a “level playing field” ..or a “better life” for any average American citizen in the 236 years of this nation’s history.

After four (sufferable) years in the Oval Office, ..as president of the United States, ..and the “Commander-in-Chief” ..of our military, ..Barack Obama is still an enigma.

According to Webster: e·nig·ma, A mystery: ambiguous, or inexplicable; a riddle.

The Nature of the Beast..

First, (at least in my opinion) it is important to understand, (who) ..or (what,) ..the “Beast” is?

 According to Webster: beast, …

1. An animal other than a human being.

2. Animal nature as opposed to intellect or spirit.

3. A brutal, contemptible person.

Going first with Webster’s number one, “an animal other than a human being.”

Question: What is a human being?

Humans (Homo sapiens) are primates of the family Hominidae, and the only living species of the genus Homo.

They originated in Africa, where they reached anatomical modernity about 200,000 years ago and began to exhibit full behavioral modernity around 50,000 years ago.

The human lineage diverged from the last common ancestor with its closest living relative, the chimpanzee, some five million years ago, evolving into the Australopithecines and eventually the genus Homo.

The first Homo species to move out of Africa was Homo erectus, the African variety of which, together with Homo heidelbergensis, is considered to be the immediate ancestor of modern humans. Homo sapiens proceeded to colonize the continents, arriving in Eurasia 125,000-60,000 years ago, Australia around 40,000 years ago, the Americas around 15,000 years ago, and remote islands such as Hawaii, Easter Island, Madagascar, and New Zealand between the years AD 300 and 1280.

As early as 12,000 years ago, humans began to practice sedentary agriculture, domesticating plants and animals which allowed for the growth of civilization.

Humans subsequently established various forms of government, religion, and culture around the world, unifying people within a region and leading to the development of states and empires. The rapid advancement of scientific and medical understanding in the 19th and 20th centuries led to the development of fuel-driven technologies and improved health, causing the human population to rise exponentially. With individuals widespread in every continent except Antarctica, humans are a cosmopolitan species, and by 2012, their population was estimated to be around 7 billion.

Humans are characterized by having a large brain relative to body size, with a particularly well developed neocortex, prefrontal cortex and temporal lobes, making them capable of abstract reasoning, language, introspection, problem solving and culture through social learning. This mental capability, combined with an adaptation to bipedal locomotion that frees the hands for manipulating objects, has allowed humans to make far greater use of tools than any other living species on Earth.

Humans are the only extant species known to build fires and cook their food, as well as the only known species to clothe themselves and create and use numerous other technologies and arts. The study of humans is the scientific discipline of anthropology.

This is a Walnut.

This is a Walnut compared to a human brain.

Although the creases and crevices on a Walnut are similar in appearance to a human brain, ..the function of a Walnut, ..is extremely dissimilar to the function of the human brain.

Continuing…

Except when that brain resides in the skull of a Liberal.

In “my humble opinion,” ..this is a good representation of the brain of an average progressive liberal Democrat currently in the employ of the American people.

Moving on…

Humans are uniquely adept at utilizing systems of symbolic communication such as language for self-expression, the exchange of ideas, and organization.

Humans create complex social structures composed of many cooperating and competing groups, from families and kinship networks to states. Social interactions between humans have established an extremely wide variety of values, social norms, and rituals, which together form the basis of human society.

Humans are noted for their desire to understand and influence their environment, seeking to explain and manipulate phenomena through science, and philosophy. (Source Wikipedia).

Now that we’ve defined the Beast, ..and looked at what a human being is, ..lets take a look at “Nature.”

According to Webster: na·ture, The forces and processes that produce and control all the phenomena of the material world.

Being a “Septuagenarian” with (personal experience,) ..both with nature, ..and with the beast, (as I ascribe nature and the beast to be). It is (my considered opinion) ..with the reality of a second Barack Obama term in the Oval Office, Americans who wish to survive his onslaught against “our” Constitution, and his onslaught against capitalism, need not sign a petition to secede from the United States as proposed by Texas Governor Rick Perry, ..and like-minded governors of a dozen other states.

Barack Obama’s path in life began with the whispers and teachings of his mother, ..a radical “admitted” atheist, raised by radical Marxist communist parents to believe that the (establishment) ..any (establishment) ..was unfair and unjust.

Question: If ambitious, entrepreneurial capitalists are such demons, ..why is it that when a (free-for-all) progressive liberal wants a roof over his or her head, ..or an automobile to transport themselves, ..they (join) ..in “seeking out” ..an ambitious, entrepreneurial capitalists to provide them with a job?

Wouldn’t it be more true to their (nature) and their (ideology,) ..to “seek out” ..an indigent individual to provide them employment?

According to Webster: in·di·gent, A needy or destitute person; impoverished.

Oh yeah, ..I forgot, ..indigent people sleep in shop doorways and on park benches, ..and they don’t have any money.

After learning that establishments, were “unfair and unjust” from his mother and his grandparents, ..Barack Obama moved on to academia, ..where some of his “chosen” and “favorite” mentors were radical liberal (socialist) professors like “Richard Cloward” and “Frances Fox Piven.” Derrick Bell, ..and the Austro-British philosopher Karl Popper.

For anyone interested in who Richard Cloward was, and who Frances Fox Piven is? You can Google them, ..or you can simply refer to my blog of “March 5, 2012,” ..about (Richard Cloward). ..and my blog of “March 6, 2012,” ..about (Frances Fox Piven). ..and my blogs of “March 10th., and 11th.” 2012, ..about (Derrick Bell) and (Karl Popper).

(I WAS HOT IN MARCH).

Cloward and Piven were stalwart advocates for overloading the government with social entitlements. It was their belief that any government or any establishment could and should be brought down by stressing the system to the breaking point.

A philosophy, ..that is (wholeheartedly) subscribe to by our current Commander-in-Chief, and/or, Pres. Barack Obama.

Barack Obama does (not subscribe) ..to creating jobs for Americans. Barack Obama does (not subscribe) to a strong military. Barack Obama does (not subscribe) ..to a level playing field for the poor. Barack Obama (does subscribe) to destroying America, ..and thanks to stupidity, ..and the (I deserve) mentality of the indigent, ..he is in possession of his weapon of choice; The “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act” (HR-3590) ..and/or, “Obamacare.”

Obamacare is “unaffordable” in the opinion of every rational economist that has read the bill. Obamacare, ..could not be sustained in a thriving economy. Accordingly, ..for those of you who have an understanding of reality

America is beyond broke!

…understand this, ..Obamacare doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of working in a failing economy.
