A voice from cyberspace..

Notice, Shazam, ..and how do you do?

I just asked Merriam-Webster for the dictionary definition of cyberspace, ..and low and behold, ..Webster immediately notified me that the word “cyberspace” was not within its domain. How about that?

Accordingly, I have turned to Wikipedia…

Cyberspace is the electronic medium of computer networks, in which online communication takes place.

The term “cyberspace” was first used by the cyberpunk science fiction author William Gibson, though the concept was described somewhat earlier, for example in the Vernor Vinge short story “True Names,” and even earlier in John M. Ford’s novel, Web of Angels. Widely used since, it has been criticized by its inventor, as Gibson himself would later describe it as an “evocative and essentially meaningless”…

According to Webster: e·voc·a·tive, Tending or having the power to evoke.

…buzzword that could serve as a cipher for all of his “cybernetic musings”. The first component of the term comes from “cybernetics”, which is derived from the Greek κυβερνήτης (kybernētēs, steersman, governor, pilot, or rudder), a word introduced by Norbert Wiener for his pioneering work in electronic communication and control science.

Now “ubiquitous,”…

According to Webster: u·biq·ui·tous, Being or seeming to be everywhere at the same time.

…in current usage the term “cyberspace” stands for the global network of interdependent information technology infrastructures, telecommunications networks and computer processing systems. As a social experience, individuals can interact, exchange ideas, share information, provide social support, conduct business, direct actions, create artistic media, play games, engage in political discussion, and so on, using this global network. The term has become a conventional means to describe anything associated with the Internet and the diverse Internet culture.

The United States Government recognizes the interconnected information technology and the interdependent network of information technology infrastructures operating across this medium as part of the U.S. National Critical Infrastructure.

According to Chip Morningstar and F. Randall Farmer, cyberspace is defined more by the social interactions involved rather than its technical implementation. In their view, the computational medium in cyberspace is an augmentation of the communication channel between real people; the core characteristic of cyberspace is that it offers an environment that consists of many participants with the ability to affect and influence each other. They derive this concept from the observation that people seek richness, complexity, and depth within a virtual world. (Source Wikipedia)

I mean, ..what the hey! ..if your interest isn’t “piqued” by now? You probably spend to much time watching CNN and MSNBC?

According to Webster: pique, (in context)  To provoke; arouse.

A forward (E-mail) received from my friend David…

12. 90% of all Americans live within fifteen miles of a Wal-Mart.

You may think that I am complaining, but I am really laying the ground work for suggesting that MAYBE we should hire the guys who run Wal-Mart to fix “our” economy.

This should be read and understood by all Americans Democrats, Republicans, EVERYONE!!

To President Obama and all 535 voting members of the Legislature

It is now official that the majority of you are corrupt morons:

a.. The U.S. Postal Service was established in 1775. You have had 234 years to get it right and it is broke.

b.. Social Security was established in 1935. You have had 74 years to get it right and it is broke.

c.. Fannie Mae was established in 1938. You have had 71 years to get it right and it is broke.

d.. War on Poverty started in 1964. You have had 45 years to get it right; $1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to “the poor” and they only want more..

e.. Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965. You have had 44 years to get it right and they are broke.

f.. Freddie Mac was established in 1970. You have had 39 years to get it right and it is broke.

g.. The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion a year and we import more oil than ever before. You had 32 years to get it right and it is an abysmal failure.

You have FAILED in every “government service” you have shoved down our throats while overspending our tax dollars.

AND YOU WANT AMERICANS TO BELIEVE THAT THE GOVERNMENT CAN BE TRUSTED WITH “OUR” HEALTH CARE ???

Folks, keep this circulating.. It is very well stated. Maybe it will end up in the e-mails of some of our “duly elected’ (they never read anything) and their staff will clue them in on how Americans feel.

AND I know what’s wrong. We have lost our minds to “Political Correctness” !!!!!

Someone please tell me what the HELL’s wrong with all the people that run this country. !!!!!

We’re “broke” & can’t help our own Seniors, Veterans, Orphans, Homeless etc., ????

In the last months and years we have provided aid to Haiti, Chile, and Turkey.. Awe are currently providing  billions of dollars to Pakistan, …recent sanctuary to Osama bin Laden. !!!

Our retired seniors living on a ‘fixed income’ receive no aid nor do they get any breaks while our government and religious organizations export Hundreds of Billions of $$$’s and Tons of Food to Foreign Countries!

We have hundreds of “adoptable” children here in America that are shoved aside to make room for the adoption of foreign orphans.

AMERICA: a country where we have homeless without shelter, children going to bed hungry, elderly going without ‘needed’ medications and mentally ill going without treatment -etc,etc.

YET….  They ( the “Self Acclaimed” good and compassionate in America) have a ‘Benefit’ for the people of Haiti on 12 TV stations, ships and planes lining up with food, water, tents clothes, bedding, doctors and medical supplies.

Imagine if “our” *GOVERNMENT* ..and those same (Self Acclaimed good and compassionate groups and individuals) gave “us, ..struggling to survive Americans” ..the same support they give to other countries.

America’s current application of compassion it is definitely a “sad commentary” our society .

99% of people won’t have the guts to forward this.

I’m one of the 1% — I Just Did”

Joined by individuals like the man or woman that composed the motivation for this offering, I am more confident than ever that my mission to return “common sense” in management, “resolution” in conflict, “compassion” in mediation and “civility” in action back to “our” Government in America is on the move.

According to Webster: common sense, Native good judgment; common feelings of humanity.

According to Webster: res·o·lu·tion, A course of action determined or decided on.

According to Webster: com·pas·sion, Deep awareness of the suffering of another coupled with the wish to relieve it.
