Politicians and Heroes..

According to Webster: pol·i·ti·cian, 1.a. One who is actively involved in politics, especially party politics. b. One who holds or seeks a political office. 2. One who seeks personal or partisan gain, often by scheming and maneuvering: “Mothers may still want their favorite sons to grow up to be President, but . . .”they do not want them to become politicians in the process” (John F. Kennedy). 3. One who is skilled or experienced in the science or administration of government.

Editorial: In my considered opinion, Webster’s definition number two, should be Webster’s definition number one.

According to Webster: he·ro, 1. In mythology and legend, a man, often of divine ancestry, who is endowed with great courage and strength, celebrated for his bold exploits, and favored by the gods. 2. A person noted for feats of courage or nobility of purpose, especially one who has risked or sacrificed his or her life: soldiers and nurses who were heroes in an unpopular war. 3. A person noted for special achievement in a particular field: the heroes of medicine. 4. The principal male character in a novel, poem, or dramatic presentation.

Editorial: In my considered opinion, Webster’s definition number one is applicable to the present poll selected front runners seeking the nomination to represent the Republican Party in 2012. In my opinion, both Mitt Romney and Rick Perry, although surely loved and appreciated by their family and friends, both being members in good standing of the Washington chapter of the; “Good Old Boys Club,” will not serve to enhance the lives of the rank and file. If the rank and file want a ticket to the game, we had better choose and elect an individual from our own ranks. Sarah Palin, although not officially entered into the race at this point, is the best, and possibly the only opportunity the rank and file have for a voice in America’s future.

Mitt Romney, “in my opinion,” is a professional politician, and a self aggrandized elitist that makes no attempt to shade that fact by optimizing the identifiers, “I, ..me, ..and my,” when speaking.

Willard Mitt Romney (born March 12, 1947) is an American businessman and politician. He was the 70th Governor of Massachusetts from 2003 to 2007 and is a candidate for the 2012 Republican Party presidential nomination. Romney is the son of George W. Romney (the former Governor of Michigan) and Lenore Romney. He was raised in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan and then served as a Mormon missionary in France. He received his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University, and thereafter earned Juris Doctor/Master of Business Administration joint degrees from Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School. Romney entered the management consulting business which led to a position at Bain & Company, eventually serving as its CEO to lead it out of crisis. He was also co-founder and head of the spin-off company Bain Capital, a private equity investment firm which became highly profitable and one of the largest such firms in the nation, and the wealth Romney accumulated there would help fund all of his future political campaigns. He ran as the Republican candidate in the 1994 U.S. Senate election in Massachusetts but lost to incumbent Ted Kennedy. Romney organized and steered the 2002 Winter Olympics as President and CEO of the Salt Lake Organizing Committee, and helped turn the troubled Games into a financial success. (Source Wikipedia)

Rick Perry, also in my opinion, is a professional politician, by virtue of his tenacity and hometown popularity…

According to Webster: te·nac·i·ty, The state or quality of being tenacious.

According to Webster: te·na·cious, 1. Holding or tending to hold persistently to something, such as a point of view.

…but make no mistake, after 5 minutes of investigation into Rick Perry’s methods and pattern of behavior in serving his constituents, it is my conclusion that at the end of the day, Rick Perry, ill mannered and self-important,  is interested in little other than Rick Perry.

James Richard “Rick” Perry (born March 4, 1950) is the 47th and current Governor of Texas. A Republican, Perry was elected Lieutenant Governor of Texas in 1998 and assumed the governorship in December 2000 when then-governor George W. Bush resigned to become President of the United States. Perry was elected to full gubernatorial terms in 2002, 2006 and 2010. With a tenure in office to date of 10 years, 249 days, Perry is the longest continuously serving current U. S. governor, and the second longest serving current U. S. governor after Terry Branstad of Iowa. Perry served as Chairman of the Republican Governors Association in 2008 (succeeding Sonny Perdue of Georgia) and again in 2011. Perry is the longest-serving governor in Texas state history. As a result, he is the only governor in modern Texas history to have appointed at least one person to every eligible state office, board, or commission position (as well as to several elected offices to which the governor can appoint someone to fill an unexpired term, such as six of the nine current members of the Texas Supreme Court). Perry won the Texas 2010 Republican gubernatorial primary election, defeating U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison and former Wharton County Republican Party Chairwoman and businesswoman Debra Medina. In the 2010 Texas gubernatorial election, Perry won a third term by defeating former Houston mayor Bill White and Kathie Glass. On August 13, 2011, Perry announced in South Carolina that he was running for the Republican nomination for President of the United States in the 2012 presidential election. (Source Wikipedia)

Returning to Webster’s 2 and 3,  (Heroes)

2. A person noted for feats of courage or nobility of purpose, especially one who has risked or sacrificed his or her life…

3. A person noted for special achievement in a particular field…

Sarah Palin was born in Sandpoint, Idaho…

Sandpoint, Idaho is a city in, and the county seat of, Bonner County, Idaho, United States. Its population was 7,365 at the 2010 census. Sandpoint’s major industry is tourism and recreation, thanks to its proximity to scenic Lake Pend Oreille and Schweitzer Mountain Ski Resort. It is the headquarters of Coldwater Creek, a women’s apparel retailer, Litehouse, a national salad dressing manufacturer, and the location of one of the largest film festivals in the Northwestern United States, the Lakedance International Film Festival. Sandpoint is on the International Selkirk Loop and two National Scenic Byways (Wild Horse Trail and Pend Oreille Scenic Byway). (Source Wikipedia)

…Sandpoint from my investigation is a beautiful place filled with rank and file American citizens, ..and a place that issues irrefutable birth certificates.

Sarah Palin’s parents, Chuck and Sally Heath are as middle-of-the-road, and as rank-and-file as anyone that I have ever read about, they are your next-door neighbor, or more correctly, they are the folks that you wish lived next door. Sarah Palin attended Wasilla high school where she participated as a member of the girls basketball team, and the cross country running team with aspirations of one day seeking employment as a sports reporter by obtaining a bachelor’s degree in communications with an emphasis in journalism. Sarah Palin, like myself, did not attend Harvard law school, Sarah Palin, like myself, is not a lawyer. (Which I’m sure were both proud of) However, Sarah Palin, unlike myself, in my self indulgent youth, when Sarah Palin recognized unbecoming and corrupt behavior in her City Government, she got up off her derrière and did something about it. Which of course, at least in my humble opinion, makes Sarah Palin a hell of a lot better man than I. Accordingly, although it is extremely late in the game for me, I have thrown my hat in the ring to campaign against inapt and corrupt behavior in Washington to the best of my ability via my proclivity to compose and arrange words.

According to Webster: words, Sounds or a combination of sounds, or its representation in writing or printing, that symbolizes and communicates a meaning and may consist of a single morpheme or of a combination of morphemes.

Sarah Palin set aside her ambition to be a sports reporter and a journalist to right a wrong, and, at least in my opinion, the lady has not looked back. Sarah Palin is “rank and file,” she kicked ass in Wasilla, and she got Wasilla back on track. Then she kicked ass in Alaska, and she got Alaska back on track, and now with the support of America’s “rank and file,” ..you and me, ..she will get America back on track.

So the choice is yours, you can choose one of the good old boys from the “Good Old Boys Club,”..and support the status quo. Or you can get brhind my effort to draft and elect one of us, Sarah Palin, a real “rank-and-file” American.

A pair of “Cow-Pie” laden boots from Texas, ..or a lady with a “Backbone and a Broom” from Alaska…

Think about it,  I’ll be back tomorrow
