Question of the Day..

thuth 1 (2)

And the first thing that comes to mind, ..and/or, ..the number one answer is; “A liar.”

Second Question: …

 thuth 2

According to Webster: “li·ar,” (lº“…r) n. One that tells lies.

And the first thing that comes to mind, ..and/or, ..the number one answer is; “The mirror.”

Yes, ..we all tell lies, ..whether blatantly, ..for power, ..and/or, ..profit? ..or we justify “our” lie as benevolent, ..to stay, ..or avert suffering.

Which of course makes us all, both judge and jury, every time we tell a lie or provide misinformation.

In the News this Morning…

 Hillary blood clot

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was admitted to a New York City hospital on Sunday after doctors discovered that a blood clot had formed,…

(Sidebar); Since the hospital’s report is so vague as not to include where Hillary’s blood clot is? In this humble writer’s,  (considered, albeit “skeptical” opinion) I don’t believe a word of it.

Continuing…

..the State Department said in a statement.

Philippe Reines, a deputy assistant secretary, said in the statement that the clot stems from a concussion Clinton sustained several weeks ago.

(Sidebar) Again, ..in (this humble writer’s opinion) Hillary’s concussion, (and questionable blood clot) ..is the result of the Congressional subpoena to “require” Hillary, ..to testify about (her knowledge) of the “cluster cluck” in Benghazi.

Continuing…

..Reines said that Clinton, 65, is being treated with anticoagulants at NewYork-PresbyterianHospital in Manhattan.

She will be monitored there for the next 48 hours, (he said.)

“Her doctors will continue to assess her condition, including other issues associated with her concussion,” he said. (They will determine if any further action is required). (Source, ABC news.com).

HE SAID – THEY SAID,

If that isn’t Washington speak? ..and/or, ..more (cover up bull-crap,) ..I’ll dance on the head of a pin in a hurricane on the Tonight Show.

Sadly, ..lying and providing misinformation is the mainstay and only product produced by the Obama administration. A product, albeit produced in great quantity by the Obama administration, it was by no means invented by the Obama administration, ..as, ..again, (in this writer’s opinion) Barack Obama has never had an original idea.

I could go on with names and examples for hundreds of pages, ..but this is New Year’s Eve, I see no reason to spoil it further.

Sequestration will take care of that, for (all of us) tomorrow morning.

If you drink, ..don’t drive.

Fiscil cliffs, ..and level playing fields..

fiscal cliff 3

According to my pearlsofprofundity Dictionary: “fis·cal cliff,” Of or relating to government expenditures, revenues, and debt.

 Playing field 1

According to my pearlsofprofundity Dictionary: “congressional playing field,” (in context) The playing field where Congress plays games with hard working American’s tax dollars.

As a lifelong fiscal conservative and a (common sense) Homo sapien, I have (absolutely) no argument with Barack Obama leveling the playing field.

With that said; To simplify, ..by clarifying (my definition) of a level playing field…

The office of President of the United   States, ..is a “service” job.

Barack Obama is paid a remuneration of $400,000 a year for his “services” as President of the United States.

A counter person at McDonald’s fast food restaurants is a “service” job, ..as is employment as a Walmart associate.

An entry-level employee at McDonald’s or Walmart receives a “stipend” ..of ($7.25 an hour) for their services as a counter person, ..or Walmart associate.

According to Webster: “sti·pend,” A fixed and regular payment, such as a salary for “services” rendered or an allowance.

Accordingly, (at least in my opinion) the simple (fix) ..is to raise Walmart Associates and McDonald’s counter people to a salary of $400,000 a year, ..or reduce Barack Obama’s stipend to $7.25 an hour.

Personally, if it were up to me to decide, I would opt for the latter, ..as providing a tricked out Boeing 747 to the millions of individuals who work for McDonald’s and Walmart would certainly bankrupt America.

Think about it, I’ll be back tomorrow

Behind closed doors..

 Obama behind closed doors 2a

..and/or, ..the Obama administration.

According to Webster: “trans·par·ent,” (in context) Free from guile; candid and open.

Antonyms for transparent..

According to Webster: (the number one answer) “o·paque,” So obscure as to be unintelligible: vague, ambiguous, uncertain, nebulous, obscure, fuzzy, hazy, murky, dismal, swarthy, and elusive.

Of course there are more antonyms, ..many, ..but why run it in the ground?

 information 1

According to Webster: “in·for·ma·tion,” Knowledge of a specific event or situation.

 freedom of information 1a

The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) is a federal freedom of information law that allows for the full or partial disclosure of previously unreleased information and documents controlled by the United States government.

The Act defines agency records subject to disclosure, outlines mandatory disclosure procedures and grants nine exemptions to the statute.

It was originally signed into law by President Lyndon B. Johnson, despite his misgivings, on July 4, 1966 as 5 U.S.C. § 552 and went into effect the following year. (Source Wikipedia).

In America, the “First Amendment” is (well-established,) ..so established in fact, ..that it is “acceptable” to (out,) ..and/or, (publish) the names and addresses of private citizens who have obtained legal permits to own firearms.

 information is power 1a

Power as we know, ..or as we (should know,) can be used for good, ..or to do harm.

The Journal News of White Plains, N.Y., on Saturday (last) posted an interactive map with the names and addresses of handgun permit owners in New York’s Westchester and Rockland counties. Gun owners – many outside of the paper’s readership – considered the map and accompanying story a provocation and the liberal declaration of war they widely feared. All of which led the conversation to take a markedly nasty turn.

Some conservative blogs published the names and home addresses of the paper’s publisher, Janet Hasson, and its reporters and editors, including the man responsible for “Comics, crosswords, Jumble, Sudoku, movie clock.”

“Merry Christmas, Eva Braun/Janet Hasson!” read one blogger’s headline. “So. You want to use your liberal rag to publish the names and addresses of legal conceal carry gun owners in your area?

Okay. But don’t whine squeal like a little stuck Gestapo agent when the tables are turned, Ms Hasson.”

Jeffersonian, a commenter at Sauce for the Goose, wrote “Nice house. Wooded lot, too. Lots of places to hide.” Syuck in NY. . . . For Now added “Lol. That was the 1st thing I thought of when viewing those pics of her palace!”

Angry web reaction to even the most mild political stories is now par for the course in journalism, where every reporter potentially has a national audience and every reader has a direct line into the reporter’s inbox and the capacity to share phone numbers and addresses on Facebook, Twitter or blogs.

The Journal News story went viral, in part because of links from conservative sites such as the Drudge Report, Memorandum.com, Breitbart.com and Instapundit.com. The listings of the journalists also went viral, generating hundreds of angry responses from gun owners already feeling under assault by talk of resurrecting the assault weapons ban.

The target expanded to include the home phone number and address of Gracia Martore, chief executive of the paper’s parent group, Gannett.

In a statement, Hasson wrote “Frequently, the work of journalists is not popular. One of our roles is to report publicly available information on timely issues, even when unpopular.

We knew publication of the database (as well as the accompanying article providing context) would be controversial, but we felt sharing information about gun permits in our area was important in the aftermath of the Newtown shootings.” She declined a request to elaborate.

Hasson declined to say how much traffic the gun permit story drove to the site. But her paper followed up with a reaction piece, noting how “Social media played a big part in the exponential spread of the story” and suggesting that the reporters had been inundated with phone calls.

 George Orwell 2 (George Orwell).

The piece quoted one caller, Scott Williams, a former Marine of New Jersey, as saying “It gets us all talking about gun control. That people are at a heightened concern makes sense to me.” He added that the newspaper’s decision to link to the database was “highly Orwellian. The implications are mind-boggling,” he said. “It’s as if gun owners are sex offenders.” (Source, cord monitor.com).

 responsibility 1a

According to Webster: “re·spon·si·bil·i·ty,” Something for which one is responsible; a duty, an obligation, or a burden.

Please correct me if I’m wrong; “Did Barack Obama take an oath to uphold the “Constitution of the United States” ..and (serve) the people (citizens) of the United States to the best of his ability?

Question: Are the following words a part of the United States Constitution?

A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. (Source Wikipedia).

Feeling plucky at the moment, I choose to exercise the (four words) of the Second Amendment that pertains to safety.

NECESSARY TO THE SECURITY

According to Webster: “nec·es·sar·y,” Absolutely essential

According to Webster: “se·cu·ri·ty,” Freedom from risk or danger.

One of America’s ongoing and most bandied about topic over the past several decades has been immigration, and immigration reform.

With truth and concern for America’s children currently at the forefront of public conversation, my question is; “Why is the press, ..and/or media, ..avoiding informing American citizens about the thousands of criminal illegal aliens released every year from American jails and prisons onto American streets, free to roam and perpetrate (whatever) ..deeds of “evil” their “deviant” minds can conjure?

A better Question: Why is our Federal Government, ..and/or, our (current administration) a.k.a. the Obama administration, comfortable with releasing thousands of convicted (violent) felony criminal illegal aliens onto American streets, ..and into American neighborhoods, to continue committing burglaries, rapes, and murders?

Why is America (to include government at all levels) and the (media in all forms) horrified when a young man with a long acknowledged neurological disorder commits an atrocity..

..while the same government, (at all levels) ..and the same media (in all forms) chooses to aid and abet criminal activity in America because deportation of the criminal individuals in question isn’t an option because their countries of origin will not accept them.

One last question before I sign off; “Have I ever provided Merriam-Webster’s definition of…

stupid - red

According to Merriam-Webster: “stu·pid,” Slow to learn or understand; obtuse.

Think about it, I’ll be back tomorrow

Endangered Species..

pioneers one quarter

American pioneers are any of the people in American history who migrated west to join in settling and developing new areas.

The pioneer concept and ethos greatly predate the migration to parts of the United States now called Western, as many places now considered as East were also settled by pioneers from the coast.

 Daniel Boone 4a jpg

For example, Daniel Boone, a key figure in American pioneer history, settled in Kentucky, when that “Dark and Bloody Ground” was still undeveloped.

Lewis and Clarke

The Lewis and Clark Expedition, also known as the Corps of Discovery Expedition (1804–1806), …

Lewis and Clarke map one quarte

..was the first transcontinental expedition to the Pacific coast undertaken by the United States. The challenging endeavor was commissioned by President Thomas Jefferson, it was led by Meriwether Lewis and William Clark.

 Orville and Wilbur Wright 2

The Wright brothers, Orville (August 19, 1871 – January 30, 1948) and Wilbur (April 16, 1867 – May 30, 1912), were two American brothers, inventors, and aviation pioneers…

 Kitty Hawk 1903 – two (2)

..who were credited with inventing and building the world’s first successful airplane and making the first controlled, powered and sustained heavier-than-air human flight, on December 17, 1903.

 Amelia Ehrhardt one fourth

Amelia Mary Earhart, July 24, 1897 – disappeared July 2, 1937) was an American aviation pioneer and author. Earhart was the first aviatrix to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. She received the U.S. Distinguished Flying Cross for this record. She set many other records, wrote best-selling books about her flying experiences and was instrumental in the formation of The Ninety-Nines, an organization for female pilots

 Albert Einstein in color 2a

Albert Einstein, (14 March 1879 – 18 April 1955) was a German-born theoretical physicist who developed the general theory of relativity, effecting a revolution in physics. For this achievement, Einstein is often regarded as the father of modern physics and the most influential physicist of the 20th century. While best known for his mass–energy equivalence formula E = mc2 (which has been dubbed “the world’s most famous equation”), he received the 1921 Nobel Prize in Physics “for his services to theoretical physics, and especially for his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect”. The latter was pivotal in establishing quantum theory.

 Warner Von Braun one quarter

Wernher Magnus Maximilian, Freiherr von Braun (March 23, 1912 – June 16, 1977) was a German-American rocket scientist, aerospace engineer, space architect, and one of the leading figures in the development of rocket technology in Nazi Germany during World War II and, subsequently, in the United States.

Under NASA, he served as director of the newly formed Marshall Space Flight Center and as the chief architect of the Saturn V launch vehicle, the superbooster that propelled the Apollo spacecraft to the Moon.

candidate two thirds 2

John Fitzgerald “Jack” Kennedy, (29, 1917 – November 22, 1963), often referred to by his initials JFK, was the 35th President of the United States, serving from 1961 until his death in 1963.

 moonwalk one third

Although, ..I did not buy into the Kennedy mystique, ..and I did not vote for him, ..giving credit where credit is due, (outside of his womanizing and lying about his health to the American public,) I salute Kennedy for his involvement in America’s space program and landing a man on the moon.

Kennedy was also the only president since Woodrow Wilson signed the Federal Reserve act of 1913 into law, that made an effort to disenfranchise the FED. A bold and courageous act that I also salute him for.

Barack Obama on the phone (2)

Barack Hussein Obama II, born August 4, 1961) is the 44th and current President of the United States.

According to Webster’s definition of a: “pi·o·neer,” …

1. One who ventures into unknown or unclaimed territory to settle.

Since Barack is gleefully advertised as a man (who leads from behind,) ..I believe that I’m going to have to disqualify him as a pioneer under Webster’s first definition.

2. One who opens up new areas of thought, research, or development.

Again, (at least in my opinion) Barack Obama, (mired in the dreams from his father) ..has never had an original thought or idea in his life, ..then of course we have his judgment on lending $500 million dollars of taxpayer money to Solyndra, and since I don’t personally count putting together a “family and friends” fun night at the White House, ..on Thursday evenings as a development, ..I must again disqualify Barack as a pioneer, ..in anything!

Question: What has this man actually done for America?

let's see 2

He was a community organizer in Chicago!

Question: How did that help America? Unless of course you lived in Chicago and were allergic to work.

He was named the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize laureate.

Question: How did that help America? (Awaiting results).

He was re-elected president in November 2012.

Question: How did that help America? Unless of course you are among the 47% who suckle on the government teat.

He signed economic stimulus legislation in the form of the “American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009,” ..and the “Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization, and Job Creation Act of 2010.”

I reiterate; How did that help America? Unless of course you own a bank, ..or you’re out of work.

Obamacare DMV

He signed Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act into law; ..how has that helped America? (Results pending).

  Obamacare - repeal 1

(Legislation decidedly and emphatically opposed by 70% of the American population).

He signed the Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act into law; ..how has that helped America? Unless of course you are one of the 300 shareholders in the Federal Reserve banking system.

He signed the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell Repeal Act of 2010 into law; ..how has that helped America? Unless of course you are a homosexual who likes to ring a bell.

He signed the Budget Control Act of 2011 into law; ..how has that helped America? Come on folks, (really) ..he didn’t pass a budget three out of the four years of his first term.

Question: Why does the government need an act to control something they ignore?

In foreign policy, Obama ended U.S. military involvement in the Iraq War, ..and increased troop levels in Afghanistan,

Question: How did changing the venue where American troops are in harms way, ..help America? (Results pending).

He signed the New START arms control treaty with Russia.

(FYI) Neither the U.S., ..or Russia, ..has a (respectable) track record when it comes to honoring treaties, ..just ask a Native American or a Ukrainian.

America is currently the only nation on the planet earth with a Constitution that not only (allows,) ..but “guarantees” ..its citizens, ..the “Right to keep and Bear Arms.

(Sidebar)

If you are a gun owner, ..or simply a concerned citizen that doesn’t want to see the U.S. Constitution dismantled, ..keep your eyes open.

Continuing…

He ordered U.S. military involvement in Libya.

How did that help America? Unless of course you own an oil company, or you are an arms dealer.

He ordered the military operation that resulted in the death of Osama bin Laden.

(I didn’t see the body, ..did you?)

In May 2012, he became the first sitting U.S. president to publicly support legalizing same-sex marriage.

How did that help America? Unless of course you are gay, and/or (homosexual).

 finger in the face2

When Arizona Governor Jan Brewer passed a “State Law” to enforce federal immigration law, ..the Obama administration sued Arizona to stop enforcing federal law.

Question: How did that help America? Unless of course you own a farm, ranch, or business that illegally employs illegal aliens, ..and/or, (undocumented workers).

 Benghazi 1

When an armed militant, and/or, (terrorist) group “grievously” attacked America’s embassy in Benghazi, ..and the Obama Administration stood by and did nothing.

Question: How did that help America? (Waiting for results).

 colonial Minutemen 1

The stalwart Americans, ..and/or, “Minutemen,” ..who braved adversity and death to defend America, ..would “not” have sat by “viewing a monitor” while another American was being slaughtered by an attacking force…

 bumper car 3

Barack Obama is selfish child with no regard for the “half” of America that pays his salary. He is a child lost in the dreams “from” his father, ..an anti-colonialist drunk.

According to Webster: “dream,” (in context) A wild fancy or hope.

 dreamer

Barack Obama is a “dreamer” with a Marxist agenda “Hell-bent” on history remembering him as a Robin Hood.

Obama hood 2a

According to Webster: “dream·er,” (in context) A habitually impractical person.

Although dreamers and Robin Hoods are well thought of by other dreamers, ..and those with ambitions that don’t extend beyond their next handout.

Dreamers and Robin Hoods have (no place) in a Nation that is the “last bastion” ..for the salvation of (good over evil) ..in an ever more uncertain and violent world.

According to Webster: “bas·tion,” A well-fortified position.

Obama, vs Dick and Jane..

Dick and Jane 2

The simple fact that our current administration is sanctioning,  and/or, ..allowing homosexuals, ..and/or, “Gays” ..to wed, ..is more than enough evidence to anyone with a lick of sense to understand that homosexual marriages are driven by some agenda other than creation, ..or nature.

 creation 1

According to Webster: “cre·a·tion,” (in context) The world and all things in it.

Big Bang theory 1

According to Webster: “na·ture,” The forces and processes that produce and control all the phenomena of the material world.

man and the universe 1

Whether you believe in science, and the Big Bang theory? Or creation as provided in the Bible, man and the universe are as real as it gets.

 godly 1

According to Webster: “god·ly,” Having great reverence for God; Divine.

ungodly 1

According to Webster: “un·god·ly,” Not revering God; Sinful; wicked.

Killing America’s children, ..whether in a “classroom” ..in Newtown, Connecticut, ..or on a street or in alley in Iraq, ..or Afghanistan, ..taking a life anywhere, ..is taking the life of someone’s child.

  holding hands 4a

According to Webster: “nat·u·ral,” Conforming to the course of nature.

  unnatural 4a

According to Webster: “un·nat·u·ral,” In violation of natural law; artificial.

GOD”S LAW…

As provided by the King James Bible;

Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is an abomination.

According to Webster: “a·bom·i·na·tion,” Abhorrence; disgust.

Although Barack Obama adamantly denies subjection to the Islamic faith in his formative years, as a matter of record the elementary school he attended in Jakarta, mandated that its students register as Muslim.

Barack Obama’s father was a devout Muslim.

Barack Obama’s mother and her parents were all admitted communists and atheists, consequently alluding to the edict, that (if it walks like a duck) ..and, (it talks like a duck,) ..it’s a pretty safe bet that you are looking at, ..is a (duck).

As I touted in one of my recent blogs, man, and/or, mankind has a propensity for lying, whether via nature, or nurture, the result of lying, and/or providing misinformation, as both our news media and our current administration have a proclivity to do, it matters little.

Accordingly, since we’re on the subject of lying and providing misinformation, ..our (quite flexible) ..current Commander-in-Chief has proven himself to be a master of the art. Changing what he explicated yesterday, ..to fit, ..or suit, ..his current circumstance, ..or whim. As (at least in my opinion) “nothing” other than his (personal agenda) holds any meaning for him.

When it is advantageous for his agenda, Barack Obama will do anything, and say anything, to achieve his objective.

When his goal was to become the President of the United States, ..he launched the longest presidential campaign in the history of this nation. Not that it wasn’t a good campaign, at least by current political standards that don’t require, even a modicum of truth.

Just let the rhetoric fly and pray that you don’t get caught, which of course was a little concerned to Barack Obama as he enjoyed a free pass from the predominant (liberal) main stream media, ..and not by chance, as Barack was chosen by the top echelon of the far left to be their golden boy.

 DUCS-5

According to urban Dictionary.com: “Golden boy,” Is a slang term for an individual who is everyone’s favorite person.

Everyone on the left that is, ..conservatives, ..and/or, ..folks with “common sense” ..have a totally (opposite opinion) ..of “our” current commander-in-chief.

Although I have absolutely no respect, ..nor fondness for the man, I will give him his “due” for pulling the (proverbial) wool over America’s eyes, ..that is not an easy task.

Albeit, ..an even more difficult task, ..will be keeping the wool over America’s eyes until 2016.

It’s just another Day..

Paul LePage 1a

 Paul LePage

Meet Maine ‘s New Governor — In case you haven’t heard about this gentleman before, ..you will, ..and you will want to commit his name to your list of good guys.

Maine’s new Governor, Paul LePage is making New Jersey’s Chris Christie look like a waffling Democrat. Because he isn’t afraid, ..or shy! ..about voicing what on his mind. Judging by the narrative below, ..every time he opens his mouth, ..his popularity (at least with conservatives) ..skyrockets.

He brought down the house at his inauguration when he shook his fist toward the media box and explicated; “You’re on notice! I’ve inherited a financially troubled State to run. Observe, …cover what we do, …but don’t whine if I don’t waste time responding to your every whim, ..just for your amusement.”

During his campaign for Governor, ..he was talking to commercial fishermen who are struggling because of federal fisheries rules. They complained that 0bama brought his family to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park for a long Labor Day holiday and found time to meet with union leaders, ..but wouldn’t talk to the fishermen. LePage replied, “I’d tell him to go to hell and get out of my State.” The Lame Stream Media crucified LePage, but he jumped 6 points in the pre-election poll.

Then there was the Martin Luther King incident that brought him National exposure. ..and “The Lame Stream Media” crucified him, ..however word on the street is very positive.

The NAACP specifically asked LePage to spend MLK Day visiting black inmates at the Maine State Prison. To which LePage responded with; “if I visit the present, I’ll meet with all the inmates, regardless of their race.”

The NAACP balked and then put out a news release claiming falsely that he refused to participate in any MLK events.

When LePage read the paper for the first time the next morning while being driven to an event, ..he went ballistic, because none of the reporters had called him for comment before running the NAACP release.

When LePage arrived at the event, ..he engaged the press and the TV cameras with stalwart; “If they want to play the race card on me they can kiss my ass”, ..as he reminded them that he has an adopted black son from Jamaica and that he attended the local MLK Breakfast every year that he was mayor of Waterville.

He then stated that there’s a right way and a wrong way to meet with him, ..then he put all “special interests” ..on notice that press releases, ..media leaks, ..and (all) demonstrations would prove to be the wrong way.

He also announced that any other group, ..which “acted” like the NAACP, ..could expect to find themselves at the bottom of the Governor’s priority list!

He then did the following, and judging from local radio talk show callers, his popularity increased even more.

When the State employees union complained because he waited until 3 P.M. before closing State offices and facilities and sending non-emergency personnel home during the last blizzard. (As the prior Governor would often close offices for the day with just a forecast before the first flakes.) LePage announced that each time the State closes for a snow day, it costs the “taxpayers” ..approximately “One Million Dollars” in wages, ..for (no work in return.)

LePage was CEO of the Marden’s chain of discount family bargain retail stores before election as governor. He noted that State employees getting off work early could still find lots of retail stores open to shop. So, ..he (LePage) ..put the State employees on notice by announcing: “If Marden’s is open, ..Maine is open!”

LePage also told State employees: “We live in Maine, ..you should know how to drive in snow. If you don’t, ..you might want to apply for a job in Florida.”

In this writer’s opinion, Governor LePage symbolizes what America needs; A refreshing (conservative) politician who isn’t self-serving and who exhibit common sense.

AS EXAMPLE:

It’s the Law…

A quote from Gov. LePage;

 money - god 1

“THE LAW IS THE LAW,” ..if the Federal Government determines that it is against the law for the words “IN GOD WE TRUST” to be printed on our money, ..then, so be it.

the 10 Commandments 6a

“If the same Federal Government decides that the “Ten Commandments” are not appropriate to be used in or on a government installation, ..then, so be it.

I say, “So be it,” ..because I like being a law abiding citizen.

I say, “so be it,” because I would like to think that smarter people than I are in positions to make good decisions.

I would like to think that those people have the American public’s best interests at heart.

However, LePage added, “Do you know what else I would like?

Since the government has deemed it inappropriate to display God’s words in our public buildings, pray to God in our public buildings or trust in God as public policy.

I don’t believe our Government (Federal, State and Local) employees should participate in “Good Friday, ..the Easter Holiday, ..or the  Christmas Holiday that celebrates and honors the Birth of Jesus Christ, ..our savior, ..and the son of God, ..that the radical (liberal, left wing) ..of our government that is intent and focused on eliminating from so many facets of American life.

I’d like my mail delivered on Christmas morning, ..or Good Friday, ..Thanksgiving, ..and on Easter. After all, ..they are all, ..(just another day.)

I’d like the Supreme Court to be in session on Christmas Day, ..Good Friday, ..Thanksgiving, ..and on Easter as well as every Sunday.” After all, ..they are, ..just another day.

I’d like the Senate and the House of Representatives to not have to worry about getting home for the “Christmas Break.” After all, ..it’s just another day.

I’m thinking a lot of my taxpayer dollars could be saved, if all government offices & services would work on Christmas, Good Friday and Easter. And it shouldn’t cost any “overtime” since Christmas, Good Friday and Easter would be just like any other day of the week to a government that is striving to be “politically correct.”

Santa happy holidays 3a

In fact….I think our government should work on Sundays (initially set aside for worshipping God….) because, after all, our government says that it should be just another day….”

What do you all think?

In this writer’s humble opinion, ..if “we,” ..we the “Common Sense Conservative Americans” ..begin responding to the “left wing” secular (I don’t believe in God) ideology currently running rampant in our Nation’s Capital, ..”we,” ..we the “Common Sense Conservative Americans” ..can defeat their insanity.

‘Amen..

Post Script: While we’re throwing God and Jesus under the bus, why don’t we throw George Washington and Abraham Lincoln under the bus along with them? Of course, if George and Abe go under the bus, ..I can’t think of any good reason why Michael Luther King shouldn’t join the crowd as well.

Think about it, I’ll be back tomorrow

T’was the Night before Christmas, 2012

A short history, because I love origins and I love the truth.

 Clement Clarke Moore 2

                       Clement Clarke Moore (1799 – 1863)

The poem was written by Clement Clarke Moore who came from a prominent family, his father, was Benjamin Moore, the Bishop of New York who was known for officiating at the inauguration of George Washington.

The tradition of reading “Twas the night before Christmas” poem on Christmas Eve is now a Worldwide institution and tradition.

The poem, also known as; “A Visit from St. Nicholas” as it was titled in 1822. Is now a standard and beloved tradition in many American families to read the poem every Christmas Eve.

The poem has redefined our image of Christmas and Santa Claus. Prior to the creation of the story (Poem) ‘Twas the night before Christmas’ St. Nicholas, the patron saint of children, had never been associated with a sleigh or eight tiny reindeers!

Clement Moore, the author of the poem “Twas the night before Christmas,” ..was a (reticent) man and it is believed that a family friend, Miss H. Butler, sent a copy of the poem to the New York Sentinel who published the poem.

According to Webster: “ret·i·cent,” (in context) Inclined to keep one’s thoughts, feelings, and personal affairs to oneself.

The condition of publication was that the author of “Twas the Night before Christmas” was to remain anonymous.

According to Webster: “a·non·y·mous,” (in context) An unknown or unacknowledged person.

The first publication date was 23rd December 1823 and it was an immediate success. It was not until 1844 that Clement Clarke Moore claimed ownership when the work was included in a book of his poetry.

Twas the Night before Christmas Poem

By

Clement Clarke Moore

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads.
And mamma in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tinny reindeer.

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!

“Now Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! On, Cupid! on, on Donner and Blitzen!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!”

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of Toys, and St Nicholas too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St Nicholas came with a bound.

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.
A bundle of Toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler, just opening his pack.

His eyes-how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow.

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook when he laughed, like a bowlful of jelly!

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself!
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk.
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose!

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight,
“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!”

 homeless in America 2

Across the United States, the number of hungry and homeless people is growing, and budget fights at the federal level are threatening the aid many need to survive, the U.S. Conference of Mayors said on Thursday.

Amidst the holiday season of family feasts and corporate dinners, the mayors released a report that found requests for emergency food assistance rose in 21 out of the 25 cities it surveyed in 2012 and remained at the same level in three.

More than half the cities said homelessness increased.

“This report is a stark reminder of the long-lasting impact the recession has had on many of our citizens,” Greg Fischer, mayor of Louisville, Kentucky, said in a statement. “Families, who once lived in middle class homes, now find themselves without a roof over their heads, needing multiple social services for the first time in their lives.”

The 25 cities are of varying size and wealth in all regions of the country. They included Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City and Nashville, Tennessee.

Chicago, a.k.a. ..the “Windy City,” ..as well as the city where our current president, ..”Barack Hussein Obama,” ..hung his hat, ..before winning the White House.

A great guy, (at least in the eyes of the free lunch bunch) as for those of us, who are actually in touch with our “Common Sense,” ..not so much!

And yes, I fully understand that I will be receiving comments on my (free lunch bunch) comment. That’s the price I pay for providing the truth, ..which is a lot less “expensive” than the price the homeless in America pay for providing free lunches for the gentleman below.

Among those seeking emergency food, 51 percent were in families and 37 percent were employed.

Nearly 1 in 6 – 17 percent – were elderly and 8.5 percent were homeless, according to the survey.

Nearly all of the cities reported a rise in the number of people seeking emergency food for the first time.

“In Philadelphia, I see people who are hungry and in need of shelter on a daily basis and explaining to them that Congress is cutting funding for the help they need is not acceptable,” said Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter in a statement.

 I’ll Drink to that!

The impending fiscal cliff has people with lower and middle incomes worried government funds for safety net programs will drop just as emergency unemployment benefits end.

President Barack Obama and Republican leaders in the U.S. Congress are negotiating on how to avert tax increases and spending cuts due to take effect at the beginning of 2013.

Republicans in the House of Representatives are pressing to cut $16 billion from food stamps as they hammer out an overdue farm bill.

The ‘07- ‘09 recession exponentially increased poverty and unemployment, while enrollment for food stamps, which help cover grocery costs, soared.

As economic recovery takes hold, the unemployment rate has fallen to 7.7 percent from a peak of 10 percent. Still, the country’s poverty rate remains at 15 percent and a record 47.7 million people use food stamps.

Meeting the demand has been hard, and many places had to portion out aid in 2012, the survey found.

In 95 percent of the cities surveyed, food pantries cut the amount of food each person received and soup kitchens reduced meal sizes.

In almost all the cities, pantries capped people’s monthly visits as well. More than half the cities said homeless families with children were denied shelter in 2012.

The hunger problem is likely to get worse next year. Three-fourths of the cities expect the need for food to rise. No city expects a decrease.

Sixty percent of the cities surveyed expect an increase in the number of families without shelter and 56 percent anticipate a rise in homeless individuals.

More than half the cities say there will not be enough shelters available.

LIKE ADDING WATER TO A FLOOD

The survey confirms what many soup kitchens, pantries and other charities have been saying throughout 2012.

“We are always at capacity. If you are in a flood and someone says more water is coming you might not be able to tell because you are already in a flood,” said George Jones, chief executive officer of Bread for the City in Washington, this fall about a rise in the number of people seeking help.

In the survey, Washington said the Capital Area Food Bank, an umbrella organization for assistance groups in Washington, is reaching two-thirds of those at risk of hunger.

Officials at the food bank said calls to its hotline jumped 25 percent last year and it also opened a new warehouse in June to double its capacity and keep up with rising hunger.

For the first time they are coordinating help at a military base, sending a truck to serve about 250 families at Fort Belvoir in Virginia.

Michael Blue, a 62-year-old part-time bus driver in Washington, gets help from Bread for the City. He says work is so sporadic that he has to scrounge for cash to pay rent and utilities. But his $13,300 annual income tops the government’s poverty threshold, disqualifying him from some welfare programs. He receives about $200 a month in food stamps.

“They tell me that I don’t qualify for help, but anybody who makes $13,000 or even $20,000 a year these days cannot survive,” Blue said.

Between jobs he jots down telephone numbers from tour buses headed to Washington’s monuments, then calls to see if they need drivers. He cannot recall the last time he had a full-time job.

“I am being priced out of existence,” he said. (Source, Newsmax.com).

Although I appreciate the prices at Walmart and Target as much as anyone, the reasoning side of my brain still can’t accept the concept that Walmart and Target’s buying and selling practices are good for the future of mankind.
